ABOUT LIBRARY
The RNS First Grade college library was established in the year 2012 in Bangalore. The library has adopted an open access system for users to have easy access to the library resources and automated with Koha software and users have been provided with bar code ID’s and the circulation of issue/return of books. The status of availability of books and project reports, can be searched through the OPAC. Our library is a knowledge center and it has all facilities required information in the form of book, Journals, Magazines, Newspapers and internet access for e-journals and e-books etc., Apart from these, the library houses a growing collection of reference books, journals and back Volumes of journals, Previous year question papers, and competitive exam books, also provide inter library loan for the benefit of students and teachers of the college, as well as information research, general reference and current awareness, computerized cataloguing. Our library has book bank facility for the students and it is extended to SC/ST.

LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Identity card is compulsory for getting access of the library.
- Enter your name and sign in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering the library.
- Students are allowed to check out 2 books for 15 days.
- No personal belongings allowed inside the library.
- Textbooks, printed materials and issued book are not allowed to be taken inside the library.
- Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
- Book lost: is the book are lost, then the borrower shall replace the books of the same edition or attest edition or pay double cost of the book after getting permission of the librarian.
- Students are required to handle the book / Journal very carefully, marking with pencil, writing or highlighting, tearing the pages or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously.
- The internet facility available at the library is for academic purposes only.
LIBRARY FACILITIES AND SERVICES
Circulation: The library follows an Open Access policy. You can pick a book of your choice from the shelves and may refer to it in the library or borrow them.
Internet Facility: For the convenience of instructors and students, the digital library features eight computers and internet access.
SMS/Email Alerts: The library sends alerts as SMS/email text messages to the users about the transactions in the library.
Reference: Reference books on the subject are well-stocked at the library. It is not possible to borrow the reference books.
Reprography: The hours of operation for the library’s photocopying service are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The copyright policy is supported by the library.
Property Counter: Personal things can be stored on the library property counter during “Library” hours.
Inter Library Loan (ILL): Other institutional libraries are members of the library. The necessary books will be delivered via poster.
User Orientation: The library provides its patrons with a user orientation session that covers the subscribed electronic resources and other resources.
Journal Archives: The library keeps a respectable collection of bound volumes of periodicals and journals.
Remote Access: The library makes use of the Koha Library software OPAC portal, which makes all of the information accessible from anywhere on any device.
LIBRARY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Library Advisory Council appointed by the College offers direction and suggestions to the library. Management of issues pertaining to the Library and its offerings. The committee’s main responsibility is to provide suggestions and counsel on matters like general policy, funding, planning, programs, goals, and objectives in order to support the needs of college for teaching, learning, and community development. The committee acts as a point of contact between the college academic community and the library, representing their interests and concerns.
