PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) has the objective of preparing graduates who embody the University graduate attributes. The proper and effective identification and definition of graduate attributes and their successful attainment at the end of the programme will result in graduate outcomes. The graduate attributes and the graduate outcomes will shape the graduate profile. It aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and habits on the one hand and the tools of analysis and the holistic development of the personality on the other with which to understand and actively participate in the modern business and economics world, to prepare them for subsequent graduate studies and to achieve success in their professional careers.

BCOM is a specialized degree that covers a broad spectrum of subjects.
- To acquire practical skills related to banking and other business aspects.
- To Prepare students to take up higher education to become business scientists, researchers, consultants and teachers, with core competencies.

To cater to the manpower needs of companies in Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, Financial analysis and Management.

To prepare students for professions in the field of Accountancy – Chartered Accountancy, Cost and Management Accountancy, Company Secretary, Professions in Capital and Commodity Markets, Professions in life and non life insurance and professions in Banks by passing the respective examinations of the respective professional bodies.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
A candidate who has passed two years Pre-University Examination conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission to this programmes.
The University of Bangalore has also created a separate course in accounting and finance for those students who are focused on getting into the fields. Some of the subjects studied here include financial accounting, cost management, auditing, taxation, IFRS, International financial system, etc.
CARRIER OPPORTUNITIES
On completion of BBA, aspirants generally opt for MBA. However, candidates can also choose to explore job opportunities in various fields such as banking, urban infrastructure, business consultancies, advertising, manufacturing and Government sectors. Some major job profiles one can opt for after completion of BBA are as follows: Human Resource Executive, Marketing Executive, Marketing Manager, Sales Executive, Research and Development (R&D) Manager, Bank Branch Manager, Commercial Lender, Financial Analyst, Financial Planner, Financial Manager, Portfolio Manager, Security Analyst, Trust Manager, Marketing Executive, Sales Executive, Advertising Executive, Market Research Analyst, HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, HR Specialist, HR Recruiter. Courses which can also be pursued after BBA are Entrepreneurship Development Program, Masters of Business Administration, PGDM, Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, PG Diploma in Banking, Masters in Finance Management and Masters in Hotel Management, PG in Data Science, Masters in Marketing Management, Masters in Advertising, Certification In foreign Languages.

Many activities like – Mock Stock, Case study analysis, Group Discussions, Debates, Budget analysis are conducted on regular intervals on current business trends.
The Department of BCOM aims to develop the skills of the student’s along with the academics. Skill based activities, strategies and interaction supports student’s educational development. The goal of all activities is to enhance students understanding, skills or effectiveness in a specific area by engaging multiple styles of learning. It boosts up the student confidence and ability to think critically. The roots of education must be accompanied by the activities that help to enrich the process of teaching, presentation and learning inside and outside the classroom. It enables the students to explore more knowledge and responding to the competitive environment.

TALENT HUNT
Talent hunt discovers the hidden talent’s in the fresh students and also inculcates the value of discipline among the students. The aim of the talent hunt is to identify each student’s interest and skills. It brings out the hidden potentials and aptitude of the students. The students showcase their dancing, theatrical and oratory.
